Lisa Corrado

Secrets of Goal-Setting Rockstars

Lisa Corrado is a coach who specializes in helping entrepreneurs get out of their own way. Her clients describe her as nurturing yet firm, able to clear away the clutter and focus on the essentials. Lisa is trained in the Co-Active coaching model, combining it with goal setting and accountability for maximum success. Lisa says her favorite goal achievement is a toss-up between surviving cancer, summiting Mount Kilimanjaro, and leaving a lucrative but soul-crushing job in order to be happy.

Rinat Halon Neal

The Photograph as a Reflection of Life

Rinat Halon Neal’s professional career started at 16 as a child actress-singer on a hit Israeli television show. At 18 she joined the Israeli military and served for 2 years. She graduated from The Ohio State University with a personalized honors degree in Photography & Visual Merchandising where she researched and wrote a thesis about the influence of photography on purchasing behavior. Her 20-year photography career spans the globe. Her photographs have appeared in magazines and exhibits internationally. 5 of her photographs are part of the Israeli Congress permanent collection. Today she is a Photo Marketing Strategist, helping small businesses bring their message to market using branded photographs – her own innovative system created based on her experience as the Walt Disney Imagineers in-house Photographer & Visual Communication Specialist. She speaks internationally on the importance of photography and is the author of the book “What’s wrong with my camera?”.

Kathy Stone

Intensive I - Honoring a Lifetime of Memories: The Anatomy of a Photo Organizing Project

Kathy Stone is a Certified Personal Photo Organizer, and member of the Association of Personal Photo Organizers. She founded Calgary Photo Solutions to help people preserve their photos and stories by providing a range of photo organizing services. Kathy has been helping people organize and enjoy their printed and digital photos for over 20 years. Kathy’s background includes over 10 years with the federal government designing and delivering technical and management training programs, and managing the training for implementation of the General Sales Tax in Alberta. She was Principal Consultant of Stone Learning Associates, and designed and delivered training for municipal governments and colleges. She is a Certified Adult Educator and has presented at the Association of Personal Photo Organizers Conferences in 2014, 2016, and 2018. Kathy has provided training on photo organizing, recovering water damaged photos, and digital album making to numerous groups and individuals, and spoken to individuals and organizations about the importance of photo preservation. .

Intensive II - Business Foundations: Clarity, Confidence & Intention for a Successful Photo Organizing Business

Lisa Luken empowers women to simplify their lives and discover their bold, brave and beautiful selves in the process. She gathers women at Simple Living Retreats on the coast of Maine and she speaks to and works with women across the U.S. She is an International Coach Federation credentialed life coach (ACC) and has worked with clients as a professional home and photo organizer, bringing both Simple Living Coaching and Consulting offerings to her clients. Lisa brings a “practical simplicity” approach to her work, encouraging women to stop waiting for someday to follow their dreams. She has realized dreams herself as a result of simplifying her life with her family, and she thrives on helping other women create simple, joy-filled lives. Lisa enjoys traveling and loves gathering with friends old and new “in real life” sharing good food, good wine and most of all, good stories.

Jill Yesko

Ready, Set, Scale!

Jill Yesko is a Certified Professional Organizer and owner of Discover Organizing Inc. After leaving behind a career of social work followed by Human Resources management, Jill created a residential organizing company in 2003, adding photo organizing services in 2004. In 2008, she started a customized greeting card company designed specifically for professionals in the organizing and downsizing industry. Jill has developed her business to include an on-demand bin storage company in 2015, and a cleaning and concierge company in 2017. Discover Organizing, a holding company for all of the other entities she owns and operates, employs 17 professionals, most of which are full time and enjoy paid vacation time and a matching retirement benefit program. The Career Ladder program that Discover Organizing uses allows anyone joining the company to develop into whatever role they desire to be within the company. A true team approach promotes the company culture of collaboration and cooperation, but the values at the core of the company are kindness, empathy, and compassion towards all clients and to each other.. .

Sherra has built a career based on helping small business owners. Her philosophy is to learn the business, do the work, and then help others do the same. Her comprehensive background in business coaching and training means you get real life experience from this business owner. She has been helping entrepreneurs for over 25 years find their passion and turn it into a business that gives them freedom and flexibility. Her life’s work revolves around storytelling through photographs so she is passionate about the photo organization industry. Sherra is the owner of Simple Photo Stories located in a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia and is an APPO certified photo organizer working with VIP clients. She and Rita Norton are co-founders of S & R Studio and My Workflow Studio where they create training tools for photo organizers and they host a podcast together at Photos with Sherita. Fun fact: Sherra has been a speaker at every APPO conference teaching intensives to breakouts to main stage since our first one in Chicago .

Peter Krogh

Peter Krogh is a photographer, author, and technologist. For two decades, he has been on the forefront of digital imaging, helping to shape the way digital photography workflow is practiced and understood. The 2005 flagship publication, The DAM Book, presented the first comprehensive theory on digital photography workflow and collection management. Since then, he has worked with people from every part of the photography ecosystem - from photographers to manufacturers, to service providers, institutions, and international standards bodies. In 2011, he was awarded the Library of Congress’s first Individual Innovation Award. When not photographing, Peter spends much of his time researching and writing about the business, technical and creative challenges presented by digital photography. He empty nests in the Washington DC area with his wife and two Labrador Retrievers.

Beth Gibson Lilja has specialized in professional organizing and training for over 20 years. Through her company, BGL & Associates, LLC, Beth brings order and peace of mind to people and groups with her leadership and organizational skills. Beth organizes home offices, photographs, and events. As an independent consultant to an adviser for direct-sales photo preservation companies, Beth has helped hundreds of people preserve and showcase their histories. Beth also organizes and hosts countless photo preservation events and retreats throughout Minnesota. Beth has served as president of Minnesota Business Women and in positions at local, state and national levels. Her accomplishments place her in demand as a professional speaker and trainer as well. Beth’s Dare to DREAM training program assists and inspires small businesses and individuals. A graduate of St. Cloud State University, Beth lives in Golden Valley, Minnesota with her husband Patrick and their dog Caribbean (Cari).

Sherrie Jenkins is the owner of Preservation Pix, LLC. She’s an expert in photo collection management. Sherrie’s been helping clients to preserve their collections for over 17 years. She loves getting to know clients through their photos and stories. She believes every client’s story has value. Sherrie offers a CAN DO attitude when it comes to assuring her clients that the job can get done. Sherrie manages her business in the Philadelphia area, where she lives with her husband and the world’s friendliest dog. When not catering to her clients, Sherrie enjoys fun times with her four 20-something kids as well as time to explore her hobbies: hiking, gardening, crochet, art, reading and traveling. Sherrie appreciates the legitimacy that APPO has brought to the photo organizing industry and the growth it has helped to foster both with her photo organizing knowledge and her business. .

Caroline Guntur is a Swedish Certified Photo Organizer, Genealogist, and Personal Historian. She is the owner of The Swedish Organizer, LLC, a company that provides customized family history solutions to clients all over the world. Caroline also hosts webinars, workshops, and creates online courses through her blogs OrganizingPhotos.net, SearchingScandinavia.com, and DigitallyOrganized.net A native of Ystad, Sweden, Caroline has a B.A. in Visual Communications from Hawaii Pacific University, an M.A. in Media Management from Columbia College Chicago, and an ESL Certificate from Cambridge. She currently serves as the Director of Technology & Communications for the Chicago chapter the National Association of Productivity & Organizing Professionals (NAPO) and is also a member of the National Genealogical Society, and the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG). .

Finding Duplicates and Developing a Workflow with PhotoSweeper

Peter has been working as an editorial photographer for almost thirty years for such clients as McGraw Hill, NY Times, Pearson Publishing, Scholastic, Sierra Magazine, Sunset Magazine, and Time Life. He started his own photo agency in 1998, Ambient Images, which represented over 30 photographers and where he learned how to manage, edit and distribute large collections of digital imagery. Peter has been a photography instructor at the Los Angeles Center of Photography since 2009. In 2015, Peter decided to take his skills where it was really needed and started Fotoflow Solutions to help people manage their personal photo collections. He primarily works with clients to organize large digital photo collections as well as scanning and preserving older family photo archives.

Isabelle Dervaux

After a 30 year career in publishing as an illustrator, Isabelle Dervaux uses her artist’s eye and sensibility to help busy New Yorkers tell their family stories; empowering them to organize, rediscover, and curate their digital photo collections to pass along to the next generation. Isabelle is a regular speaker at libraries, private organizations and mom’s groups. She has taught Illustration and visual storytelling at the CCA in San Francisco and at Parsons The New School for Design in New York. Originally from Valenciennes, France, she now lives in Fort Greene, Brooklyn.

Memory keeping since she was a kid, Kate graduated from making vacation scrapbooks to earning a master's degree in Museum Studies and taking jobs at two Smithsonian museums. For eight years, she managed the care and storage of half a million objects at The Strong National Museum of Play and handled the packing of hundreds of museum loans. After getting her MBA, she broke into marketing, spending a decade as CMO at a bank and a private school. Ready for a change, she discovered APPO and started The Photo Curator, LLC. He is the adoptive father of two boys. In creating his sons’ Lifebooks, Philip saw a need for dealing with the changing technology of photography. He enjoys helping people get their printed photos, digital images, and family movies back into their lives. Philip works with his wife Susan to tell stories with photos, memorabilia, and words to help build bonds within the family and to inspire future generations.

Susannah Brown is a professional photographer, arts educator, and photo organizer. Over the past decade, she spent her time as an museum educator at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum in New York as well as the Corcoran College of Art + Design in Washington, D.C. Bringing together her unique skill set, Susannah founded DC Photo Solutions LLC. She loves helping people learn about art, photography and preservation showing clients new ways to curate and protect their treasured photos and memories.
